With so many new restaurants entering the food scene in Seoul, it seems almost impossible to find out where the real goodies are at. But the thing about Seoul is that the city is small so word spreads around rapidly, especially when it’s about hot restaurants. And also, that’s why you have me- to share the goods with y’all (: Owned by a Korean-American chef, The Beastro serves amazing American contemporary cuisine. I remember when I first visited, it was pretty quiet, but now this place is so jam-packed on the weekends, it would be best to make reservations if you plan to go during the evening.
Orecchiette with basil and mint pesto, stilton blue cheese, marinated peppers, walnuts, and roasted mushrooms- I liked this dish because the blue cheese didn’t overpower the other flavors, as I found was the case for most blue cheese dishes. It was delicious with the hanger steak we got.
This tender steak just simply melted in my mouth, and tasted even better with the gravy and roasted potatoes on the side. I doubt you’ll find steak as good as this for only 20 bucks. Probably my favorite dish at The Beastro. I would say it’s a must to get this.
We also wanted some side dishes, so we ordered the buffalo mac and cheese. I think it’s genius how they complemented the creamy mac and cheese with some buffalo sauce.
**NOTE: The Beastro is currently under construction and plans on reopening mid-spring.
